
Nadia Velasquez, LCSW-S (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Social Work Supervisor in the state of Texas. Nadia attended The Steve Hicks School of Social Work program at The University of Texas at Austin. As a student, Nadia participated in the Gerontology Resources and the Aging Community in Education (GRACE) program and received specialized training and education working with older adults. She graduated with a Master of Science in Social Work with a portfolio in Aging and Health in May 2016. She later participated in the American Society on Aging RISE Fellowship (2023) expanding her Leadership and advocacy skills in the field of aging.
Nadia began her career in the non-profit sector as a hospice social worker providing anticipatory grief and loss support to patients and families coping with a terminal prognosis. Nadia continues her passion of advocating for accessible mental health services for all, with a focus on older adults. Presently, Nadia is the Clinical Director at Family Eldercare and supervises a team of Licensed Social Workers and provides in-home psychotherapy services to homebound adults. She also has a private practice, Luna Tides Counseling, providing individual psychotherapy services to adults of all ages.
Nadia has extensive experience working with adults in areas of mental wellness, aging, caregiving, life transitions, chronic illness, generational trauma, grief, and loss. Nadia is mindful of how systemic barriers may keep individuals from seeking mental health services. As a result, Nadia incorporates a culturally sensitive, collaborative, and relational approach to therapy.
