Melissa Spatz, Co-Executive Director, brings with her 25 years of experience in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, including 10 years as the Director of the Piper Fund. Among other things, Melissa has spearheaded work on the right to protest, introduced a racial justice framework for the Piper team’s strategies on money in politics and judicial independence, invested in state infrastructure organizations when few were doing so, and engaged in long-range scenario planning to develop innovative strategies for an anti-authoritarian time.
