MARJONA JONES

Director of Strategy & Programs
LIFT Fund

Marjona Jones, new Director of Strategy and Programs for the LIFT fund, brings a combined two decades of experience in organizing for racial and economic justice and philanthropy. Most recently, at Collective Future Fund, Marjona led open call grant cycles that supported survivors of systemic sexual, gendered, and racial violence.  She has brought this focus on safety and healing to her work at the LIFT Fund. As Senior Program Officer at the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program, Marjona led efforts to transform Veatch into a critical source of support for the infrastructure and capacity building of Black-led organizing. As co-chair of the Funders for a Just Economy affinity group, she made space for funders to interrogate their role as grantmakers and the mandate to fund racial justice and gender justice as part of building a just economy. Marjona is a Chicago native, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and now resides in Newburgh, NY.
