Heather McGhee designs and promotes solutions to inequality in America. Her book, The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together spent 10 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list; the young adult version was just published. The Sum of Us was also adapted into a successful podcast. Heather’s regular media appearances, including on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” continually elevate the concerns of working families. For nearly two decades, she helped build the nonpartisan "think and do" tank Dēmos, serving four years as president. Heather is the chair of the board of Color of Change, the country’s largest online racial justice organization, and serves on the board of 100% Democracy.
