Deborah Scott, CEO of Georgia STAND-UP, and We Vote, We Win, is an Obama “White House Champion of Change,” nationally known for her work in civic engagement, voting rights, and community empowerment. A master organizer, strategist, and mentor to young activists, she has graduated more than 400 community leaders from her Policy Institute for Leadership Development, housed in the Movement Center, multi-purpose meeting and conference facility she founded in Atlanta, Georgia. On the front lines of racial justice and progressive social transformation for more than 25 years, Deborah’s motivational talks and workshops have fueled numerous conferences, rallies, demonstrations, and direct actions, advancing social equity and support for basic human rights. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University and recipient of numerous awards, she is a member of the Power, Innovation, and Leadership cohort at the Harvard Kennedy School.
