DEANNA ALVAREZ

Interim Executive Director
Arizona Wins
DeAnna has been at One Arizona and Arizona Wins for the last year and brings passion, knowledge, and expertise. She is a first generation American and Arizonan. She was deeply impacted by the divisive leadership that persecuted her community, growing up during the SB1070 era. She is driven by serving her community and the strong BIPOC coalitions building power all over the state.
DeAnna leads the table's Arizona Research Consortium, a state-based hub for research, harnessing polling and research data to develop insights on what matters most to Arizona’s diverse communities. In the 2022 cycle alone, ARC managed over $1.4million portfolio of election research with over 20 partners who used this information to guide their work and outreach.
Previously, DeAnna advocated for Arizonan families as a constituent services caseworker and director for two members of Congress and developed policy for a Phoenix City Councilmember, navigating gaps in immigration, social security, and Medicare services, and more for overlooked communities.
Her priority during her tenure as Interim ED will be seizing the moment to support partners in their advocacy work with new progressive elected officials to build on the hard fought victories. Although she calls herself a ‘cautious optimist’, she has full faith that Arizona is moving toward a more equitable and just state.
In her downtime, DeAnna is cooking every chance she gets and spending time in the desert with her family.
