MICHAEL JANKO

Senior Director, BNY Mellon Wealth Management

Michael Janko is a senior director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role, he works directly with clients to address their investment and wealth management needs.
He is responsible for implementation and oversight of strategy across personal, as well as endowment, foundation, and charitable portfolios with a wide range of objectives. Michael brings to the role deep industry and competitive landscape experience, and provides guidance and assistance in the determination of appropriate investment strategies for both individual and non-profit client segments. His responsibilities also include driving innovation and improvements in Wealth Management’s service offering, including advice, research, platform and distribution.

Michael joined the firm in 1997 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. His previous experience includes several management positions for wealth management firms, most recently having acted as portfolio manager for SunTrust Investments.

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial/ organizational psychology and a master’s degree in finance from Suffolk University Sawyer Graduate School of Management. His community involvement includes work with a local non-profit seeking to increase opportunities for at-risk youth..
